To Life
Over $3 million Raised At Event Honouring Lifestyles Magazine
On September 19, 2007, on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Lifestyles Magazine, Shaare Zedek Medical Center and Toronto's Mount Sinai Hospital were the beneficiaries of a generous and memorable evening, To Life. The evening recognized and celebrated a group of 23 Visionaries for their philanthropic leadership in the community.
"It was truly a remarkable evening. To Life was a great combination of inspirational philanthropy and heartwarming stories, all in aid of Shaare Zedek and Mount Sinai," said Jeff Rosenthal, Co-Chair of the event. "It is incredibly satisfying to know that our collective generosity - we raised just over $3 million in this one evening - will have such a lasting influence in the years and decades to come, for both of these hospitals and the many patients they serve," he continued.
Gabriel Erem, founder of Lifestyles Magazine, noted that the magazine was established 35 years ago with a noble goal. "Our singular focus," he said "was and is to seek out the best in humanity." He noted that, over the years, Lifestyles Magazine has profiled many of the Visionaries at the event, including "their incredible passion for the vibrant community we live in."
The host for the evening was Larry King, via satellite, with entertainment provided by Grammy Award winner Miri Ben Ari, Sophie Milman and Mayumana, a dance troupe from Israel. Representatives from Shaare Zedek and Mount Sinai - including Professor Jonathan Halevy, Director-General of Shaare Zedek Medical Center and Mr. Joseph Mapa, President & CEO of Mount Sinai Hospital - were in attendance, and were acknowledged and thanked over the course of the evening for helping to lead their world-class facilities.
Heartfelt thanks to all who made this evening such a resounding success!
