This week is Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week in some countries, Dr. Shelly Ben-Harush Negari, Head of our Adolescent Medicine Clinic, encourages parents to keep several things in mind, “Adolescence is a time of physical maturation as well as emotional and social development During this time, teenagers start developing habits that will accompany them and affect their entire lives. Youths need support through this time of change Recognizing the complexity of this stage in one’s development and a holistic approach to the adolescent patient is crucial in order to build a healthier society. Investing in education and prevention of unhealthy lifestyle will reduce morbidity and mortality.”
