David Smith

David Smith's executive leadership experience and entrepreneurial spirit combine to create an individual with an intuitive sense for commerce and sound decision-making. He is highly respected by both business colleagues and friends and has earned the reputation of being a generous, reliable, humble person.

Since 1999, as the senior executive to Maple Leaf Firelog Products Company in Canada, David has been responsible for all aspects of operations.

His background in the industry through his seven years at another international firelog company, combined with his extensive sales and marketing experience at Royal Lepage Real Estate and Benetton Group Italy, provides David with a unique international business perspective. He is involved in many industry related associations and is the Chair of the Firelog Manufacturer's Caucus, a well-respected position.

Aside from his close family, one of David's greatest sources of pride is his community involvement. From 2000-2005, he held the title of Co-President of The Canadian Shaare Zedek Hospital Foundation, and has been integrally linked to the cause as a Board Member since 1992. Currently he is Chair of the Executive Committee. He has also dedicated his time to the State of Israel bonds (1992-1994) as a Member of the Construction Development Division and Village Shul (1999 - 2005) as a Member of the Golf Committee. David is committed to success in everything he does, and was one of the top fundraisers in the annual challenge for the Baycrest Centre (1993 - 2004).
