From the start of the outbreak of the coronavirus until the end of April 2020, Shaare Zedek Medical Center treated approximately 2,160 patients diagnosed with Corona. Approximately 500 patients were hospitalized for (a total of) over 8,971 hospitalization days, 27,685 hours of artificial respiration and 561 physiotherapy treatments.

To prepare for treating the coronavirus patients, Shaare Zedek purchased dozens of artificial respiration machines, 3 million surgical masks and 30,000 protective gowns.

In addition, Shaare Zedek is spearheading research that will lead to a breakthrough in the fight against Corona.
