Avishai is four years old and has a smile that lights up the room. He has been coming to Shaare Zedek for treatment for several years. Avishai, like many other children who regularly receive treatment in Shaare Zedek, adores the Dream Doctors and he always wants to have one of the Dream Doctors by his side.
Avishai’s mother, Michal, shared, “The clowns are incredible. They really are a life saver for Avishai. He hears about Shaare Zedek he starts talking about the clowns, he hears about clowns he talks about Shaare Zedek—to him they go hand-in-hand”
Ms. Maggy Greenberg, a teacher in our Lincoln David Abraham Paediatric Educational Institute took this wonderful picture of Avishai and Prof. Chimchurri as part of a lesson in phototherapy. Avishai’s great-grandfather, Ralph and great-grandmother, Miriam, saw this photo they were very moved. Ralph who enjoys painting decided to paint the photo. Michal expressed, “This photo really captures the joy that the clowns bring to Avishai. Given all of his treatments and everything he has to go through, it is very heartwarming for us to see him happy and we are very appreciative to all of the members of the staff and the Dream Doctors for EVERYTHING they do for Avishai.”
