A two-month-old baby underwent a therapeutic brain catheterization at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem due to massive brain bleed.
After several days of non-stop crying and restlessness, the baby’s parents took him to Shaare Zedek where he underwent various scans. He was monitored by a multidisciplinary team including Brain catheterists, neurosurgeons and imaging doctors who together decided the baby should undergo a catheterization to close the malformation.
The catheterization was performed by Dr. Yaakov Amsalem, Director of the Brain Catheterization Unit at Shaare Zedek, and his team.
Dr Amsalem shared, “The brain catheterization unit at Shaare Zedek is one of the few in Israel that specialises in treating a wide variety of blood vessel, brain, neck, and spinal cord problems, not only in adults but also in infants and premature babies. “I’m very happy that the procedure was such a success, and I wish this sweet child a life of good health.”
“I want to give a huge thank you to Dr. Amsalem and Dr. Borodetsky who were so good to us throughout the process, and I wish everyone good health,” said the grateful father.
