As part of Shaare Zedek’s celebrations in honor of Israel’s 70th birthday, this week, a special evening was held in honor of our nursing staff which includes roughly 1,200 nurses who come from dozens of countries around the world, have different personalities, experiences, skills and hobbies and work together to create an atmosphere of professionalism, teamwork, compassionate care and dedication.
During the evening, Prof. Jonathan Halevy, the Director General of Shaare Zedek, thanked the nursing staff and the nursing staff prepared charming presentations, films, musical interludes and more. One nurse shared, “I had such a great time. Nurses made films and songs and it was just wonderful. Then the doctors prepared a special drumming performance that was very touching. I feel privileged to work with people who really care –they care about their patients and they care about their fellow staff members. Our work is challenging and often stressful. Although day to day we help each other, tonight, I really felt a hug of support and caring and I really had fun…I am very thankful to everyone who worked on this evening.”
