Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, renowned as Israel’s busiest maternity hospital with a yearly record of over 22,000 deliveries, celebrated a significant milestone last week. The occasion marked the expansion of its Gynaecological and Maternity Emergency Care Unit. This expansion involves the incorporation of fresh patient care stations and beds, enhancing our capability to provide superior care for the escalating number of women seeking treatment at the hospital.
The newly enlarged section places a strong emphasis on safeguarding patient privacy, while also offering spacious working areas for our devoted team of midwives and medical professionals. This design allows them to effectively respond to a spectrum of emergencies.
Dr. Vladimir Plotkin, the Unit’s Director, emphasized that the expanded space plays a pivotal role in addressing the needs of women facing various conditions. It will notably improve the unit’s ability to make informed decisions about discharges versus hospitalizations.
Apart from the new bed stations, the Unit boasts reclining couches exclusively designed for women, particularly those in advanced pregnancy stages. These couches provide a tranquil space for relaxation, complete with the assurance of prompt access to advanced equipment and highly skilled medical teams, ready to intervene swiftly if necessary.
This initiative perfectly aligns with our staff’s commitment to individualized care, allowing them to cater to the unique medical needs of women in the more proficient and respectful manner. Together we continue saving, delivering, and changing lives.
