In commemoration of National Book Week in Israel, Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem is proud to announce the launch of its very own literary work, just released today!
Titled HaSipur Shelanu (Our Story), the book explains the hospital’s battle against Coronavirus, from the perspective of Shaare Zedek nurses, who fought the virus on the front lines. The nurses featured in the book recount their experiences within Shaare Zedek’s multiple COVID-19 units ever since the virus first arrived in the hospital in early 2020.
The story began as one of concern, and uncertainty, which quickly escalated to packed wards with treatment defined by all new medical, and practical challenges, and all too much pain and loss.
Gali Weiss, Director of Nursing Services at Shaare Zedek said, “HaSipur Shelanu– Our Story, which is being released today, is essentially the story of each and every one of us. I salute all of those who proved their dedication to Shaare Zedek and the community over this incredibly difficult picture, and this book is a tribute to that commitment by revealing their experiences and sharing the often complex personal emotions that will remain with us for many years to come.”‘
