Hundreds of Israel Police officers came to Shaare Zedek Medical a few weeks ago for a day-long training session designed to enhance medical preparedness – particularly in light of the events of October 7th and the ongoing war.
The partnership between the hospital’s Level 1 Trauma Unit and the Israel Police’s Medical Division was initiated by the Unit’s Director Dr. Alon Schwarz and organized together with Mary Babkin Klein, the Unit’s Nursing Coordinator.
The drills were designed to help officers make quick and effective life-saving decisions in the field. Officers were trained by Shaare Zedek physicians and nurses in advanced first-aid procedures and how to communicate in real-time with hospitals to prepare them for the arrival of casualties.
Shaare Zedek’s Trauma Unit is widely recognized as one of Israel’s most active facilities for trauma response and treats everyone, regardless of religion or race. Together we can continue saving lives, delivering lives, and changing lives.
