Tuesday, May 5, was International Midwives’ Day which was established to recognize and honor midwives around the world. Our Labor and Delivery Departments, where over 22,000 babies are born annually, are composed of close to 150 midwives who focus on ensuring the baby’s safe delivery while working with expectant parents to create a wonderful birthing experience.
The midwives in Shaare Zedek come from diverse backgrounds, speak different languages, have various areas of training and expertise. Our midwives view each birth as a miracle and they feel honored to be part of that experience.
Please keep following us as we share with you a bit about our magnificent midwives throughout the day.
