Two plastic surgeons from the Vascular Birthmark Institute of New York came to Shaare Zedek as part of a cooperative effort to help deepen the knowledge of our plastic surgery department in treating vascular anomalies.
Dr. Yoav Gronowitz, Head of our Plastic Surgery Department explained, “Such efforts expose the staff of our department to other fields, and in this context we have deepened our ties with Dr. Milton Waner and Dr. O from the Vascular Birthmark Institute in New York, who are internationally renowned for work treating vascular malformations…This is a unique collaboration. In the future, we plan to send interns for a short period of training to New York to deepen the connection between our departments and to upgrade our professional knowledge.”
The Vascular Birthmark Institute of New York is very highly regarded. Many people come to this institute if they have complicated cases, if they have been misdiagnosed in the past or if they have not been able to find an effective treatment for their condition.
Dr. Waner co-founded the institute and is considered a leading authority in hemangiomas and vascular malformations is considered at the forefront of his field.
