Nine months after Shaare Zedek admitted its first Corona patient, the hospital is now actively preparing to begin the vaccination process of the entire hospital staff .
In a “dry run” of the effort, Director of Logistics Gadi Ilan simulated the role of the first patient with the drill taking place in the area where the earliest Corona patients were treated.
Shaare Zedek Director General Professor Ofer Merin said, “This is the very place where we treated our first Corona patient and today we are closing a circle as we get ready for the very first vaccinations in the coming days. We very much hope that this moment is the beginning of the end for the pandemic.”
Since the sign-up process opened for hospital staff, over 1,000 people registered for the vaccination in a span of just 12 hours. The projection is that all can receive their first dosages over the course of the next week.
