Roughly half a year ago, Shaare Zedek Medical Center purchased 20 new ultrasound machines for departments across the hospital. Over the past couple of months many doctors have highlighted the impact of these new machines on patient care.
One of these state of the art machines was installed in the Cardiology Department and Dr. David Rosenmann Head of the Ambulatory Cardiology Unit shared, “This is a very advance echo machine with cutting edge imaging technology. This machine provides a 3-dimensional perspective and enables the staff to actually see the heart in action, similar to what a heart surgeon sees during open-heart surgery. This is incredibly insightful when performing complex catheterizations, putting in stents or repairing birth defects,… We can also perform test via the esophagus, transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) which enable doctors to see pictures of the heart without the ribs or lungs getting in the way.”
