Talya Slotki, Nursing Coordinator at Shaare Zedek’s Pain Clinic, received the Honourable Distinction for Bravery and Heroism from the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, alongside Israel’s Minister of Health, Uriel Buso.
On October 7th, Talya’s sons, Noam and Yishai Slotki, and her husband Shmuel, joined the battle in the South. Both sons fought valiantly before falling in battle.
After the Shiva, Talya returned to her role at Shaare Zedek, providing critical medical care tirelessly. Many of her patients, evacuated soldiers, were treated for a variety of injuries, including deeply painful orthopedic wounds and burns, requiring Talya’s intensive care.
The bravery of the Slotki sons on that horrific day has become widely recognized as a symbol of remarkable heroism and love for their people and country—ideals instilled by Talya and her husband.
Despite personal loss, Talya’s continued service to her patients and profession inspires the entire Shaare Zedek family. We extend our deepest congratulations on this fitting honor.
Talya, as we continue to mourn together, we proudly salute your dedication to saving, delivering, and changing lives.
