What do you dream of? Good health for everyone? A good livelihood? Joy from your children and grandchildren? Is there a special trip you would like to take? Something you dream of buying?
Shaare Zedek is part of an effort organized by the Israel National Kidney Foundation putting up “wishing trees” for people with kidney disease to promote and preserve the rights of kidney patients. This effort was designed to raise awareness about dialysis patients’ wish to continue living and to receive the most effective treatment in order to reduce and even prevent potential side effects of their treatments that can endanger their lives.
Our patients, staff and visitors were encouraged to write down their wishes and attach it to this special wish tree located in our fourth floor lobby.
Chronic renal failure has been listed as one of the five most serious diseases and today, except for kidney transplantation, there is no other way to recover from this disease.
“Wishing Trees” have been set up all over the country.
