Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem demonstrated remarkable efficacy in responding to a critical situation involving a 38-year-old pregnant woman who collapsed prior to giving birth to twins. The patient was expeditiously transported to Shaare Zedek after experiencing a loss of consciousness at her residence. Upon arrival, she presented with no discernible heartbeat, prompting the immediate implementation of comprehensive resuscitative measures.
A multidisciplinary team of skilled Medical Professionals orchestrated a series of pivotal interventions, notably including an emergent C-section performed to deliver the twin fetuses. Despite their initial lack of cardiac activity, the fetuses were successfully resuscitated following an extensive series of medical procedures. Subsequently, the newborns were transferred to the NICU, where their critical condition is being meticulously monitored and managed.
Concurrently, the mother’s cardiac function was restored through diligent medical efforts, leading to her transfer to the Intensive Care Unit in an exceedingly critical condition. The medical teams at Shaare Zedek continue to provide diligent and sustained care to both the mother and her newly born infants. Their expertise and collaborative approach have been instrumental in salvaging this situation and together we continue saving, delivering, and changing lives.
