99 year old Holocaust survivor recuperates from COVID-19 at Shaare Zedek

Shaare Zedek is happy to share that Ms. Sara Itzinger, a 99 year old Holocaust Survivor, has recuperated from the coronavirus after a month of hospitalization in Shaare Zedek.Sara, met her husband in the United States shortly after World War II, and they moved to Israel from Cleveland Heights less than a year ago to spend time with their family. Her husband, Zvi Herschel Itzinger z”l, also a Holocaust survivor, was infected by the coronavirus as well and unfortunately, he passed away.

Dr Ariel Rokach, a Senior Physician in our Pulmonary Institute shared, “Sara Itzinger is an inspiration to us all that the coronavirus can be conquered at any age.”

Sara was released from Shaare Zedek and is going to her daughter’s home, to celebrate her 99th birthday. We wish Sara a happy birthday and many years of good health.
