A Remarkable Recovery At Shaare Zedek

64-year-old Rosa Atsilov was shot in the hand and leg when a terrorist opened fire in the Neve Yaakov neighbourhood near her home on Friday night about three weeks ago. Rosa, who was evacuated to the Trauma Unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem suffered from limb and bone pain due to her injuries. Following a series of surgeries and hospitalization in the Department of Orthopedics, Rosa was released today in good condition!

Upon arriving at Shaare Zedek, a multidisciplinary emergency team performed a preliminary action to stop the bleeding, followed by a series of invasive tests and procedures performed successfully by the specialists of the Department of Orthopedics.

“Rosa arrived bleeding and with orthopedic injuries. She underwent a series of surgeries.
We are happy for the success of the surgeries and treatments, now Rosa will need continued rehabilitation and medical follow-up, and we wish her and her family good luck in the future,” said Shaare Zedek Doctor, Alon Schwartz.

Rosa told the staff at the hospital that she and her daughter were saved by miracle, when her daughter protected her in her body. Rosa wanted to thank her daughter for saving their lives and the staff that treated her so devotedly, “We came to you as a result of an unusual event and your professionalism and caring made us feel that we are surrounded by good people and that in every issue there is someone to turn to and to trust.”

“We wanted to thank everyone who was there for us and made our stay at the hospital more pleasant. Special thanks to the team of doctors in trauma and orthopedics, and especially to the surgeon Dr. Yehuda Vale, to the staff in nose throat, thank you! Wishing everyone continued joy of life, and gratitude.”
