We would like to say Mazal Tov to Lena Stern for receiving the 2023 President’s Decoration Award!
The President’s decoration, an initiative of the ninth President of the State of Israel, is presented to those who made a unique contribution to the State of Israel.
In 2007, Lena and her husband Yuri Stern arrived at Shaare Zedek Medical Center. Yuri was diagnosed with cancer and after 8 months of intensive chemotherapy and treatment, he sadly passed away.
After his death, Lena decided to design a treatment room to commemorate Yuri. The Holistic Treatment Center, a first of its kind in Israel, opened in the Helmsley Oncology Center in Shaare Zedek.
Lena Stern said, “The Center staff, doctors, nurses, and medical teams take care of hundreds of patients professionally, with dignity, and because of their dedication, this was possible. This center is the strength of my life and I thank the entire team at Sharre Zedek”.
