Over the past few days Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem delivered 85 newborns, 10 of which were born to parents that were evacuated from their homes near the Gaza Border. Yonatan, an IDF officer in the Givati Brigade who is recovering from an injury sustained on the battlefield in Kfar Azza and his wife Hadar, became parents to a beautiful baby girl named Haleli.
The couple was spending the Simchat Torah holiday away from their home, when Yonatan got the call at 7:00am to report for duty. He travelled south, fought bravely and was injured by a shrapnel from a grenade that was thrown in his direction before the terrorist was neutralized. He was treated at Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheva. Yonatan later joined his wife at Shaare Zedek, where she gave birth to their daughter!
With the new addition to their family, Yonatan is now preparing to return to his fellow soldiers and the battlefield, a remarkable representative of the spirit of rebirth and strength that is the people of Israel during these challenging times.
To Yonatan and Hadar, we wish you a huge Mazel Tov, the Shaare Zedek community is truly proud of you!
