Michal Herzog, wife of Israel’s President, came to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem to visit patients who have been wounded in the war and are currently being treated in the hospital.
During her time with the patients, Mrs. Herzog expressed how moved she was by the bravery and courage of the nation’s citizens and security forces alike in the face of the horrific attack launched by Hamas.
Hearing the individual stories of survival and heroism, she also expressed her gratitude to the medical teams from the IDF and the nation’s hospitals who have worked tirelessly to care for the wounded.
“Our sincere hope is that your body and soul should heal as quickly as possible and we should all know better days very soon,” Mrs. Herzog said.
Shaare Zedek Director General Prof. Ofer Merin welcomed the First Lady and updated her that over 130 patients have been treated for injuries related to the war and the hospital has been dedicated to addressing both their medical and emotional needs.
“The First Lady’s visit is so important for our patients and staff and truly provides us with the support we all need to carry on in these very challenging days. On behalf of the entire Shaare Zedek family we are deeply thankful for your visit and kindness.”
