Albeit after a year’s delay and under continued challenging circumstances, for the next couple of weeks the sporting world’s attention will be focused on the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Prof. Naama Constantini, Director of the Heidi Rothberg Sports Medicine Center at Shaare Zedek, has served as the physician for Israel’s swimming team for the past 20 years and provides medical support for all the various squads that will be competing in the swimming competitions on behalf of Israel. No fewer than 12 Israeli swimmers will be competing in Tokyo.
In advance of the Games, Prof. Constantini, who is not traveling with the delegation, said, “Competing in the Olympics can’t be compared to any other sporting experience. My hope is that the team will enjoy every moment and stay focused on the target, and if they succeed in returning home with individual and national achievements- no one will be prouder than me.”
Best of luck to Team Israel!
