Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem held a memorial ceremony to commemorate the children, siblings, and close relatives of staff members who have fallen during the war.
In attendance where staff, guests, and hospital administration who gathered in prior and for a moment of silence to recognize the horrific personal toll the war has taken. The initiative behind this stemmed from the Ministry of Health, the Doctors Union and the Nurses Union.
Shaare Zedek Director General Prof. Ofer Merin said a speech stating, “We are all in pain together with the families who have suffered such terrible losses and for all those who are so anxiously praying for the return of their loved ones being held in captivity. As in times of peace, the Shaare Zedek family stands as one and we mourn together with all those who have lost so much.”
Sara Goldberg, Director of the Department of Nursing read the names of the fallen from within our hospital community followed by the recitation of Tehilim and the prayer for the IDF and for our brothers and sisters being held in captivity recited by Shaare Zedek’s rabbi, Rabbi Yosef Sprung. The brief ceremony concluded with the kaddish and recitation of Hatikvah led by Gadi Ilan, Director of the Department of Logistics.
