Rabbi Yaakov Marziyov, the Rabbi of the Beit El community in Ramot flew to Israel from America for his son’s wedding. Following the Ministry of Health’s guidelines, Rabbi Marziyov planned to watch the wedding in isolation via a live streaming. Soon after his return, the Rabbi did not feel well and he came to Shaare Zedek were he was diagnosed with the coronavirus. When our staff learned about his son’s wedding, they surprised the Rabbi and brought a screen outside his room in isolation where he watched his son Meir, marry his bride, Miriam through the glass doors
Rabbi Marziyov is well known for his help in bringing tens of thousands of Bukharan Jews to Israel from Uzbekistan. Rabbi Marziyov said, “I want to thank the staff from Shaare Zedek for the very big present they gave me. From the bottom of my heart, I wish the medical teams much good health and success. I wish all of the people of Israel, the soldiers in the IDF and all of the medical staff that just like we merited this wedding, we should merit to emerge from this crisis stronger and more united.”
We wish Meir, Miriam and Rabbi Mariyov and their families, many years of good health and happiness. We hope that in the future you will celebrate many happy occasions in surrounded by family and loved ones. Mazel tov!
