The staff and patients at Shaare Zedek Medical Center enjoyed another wonderful visit with Pamela Bielak, the head of Crafting for a Cure. Shaare Zedek Medical Center is one of two Israeli hospitals which are part of this crafts endowment program which donates arts and crafts projects to over 90 hospitals mainly in Canada, Kenya and the U.S.
Pamela was joined on this trip by her colleague, Serena Malkin Farberman and Shaare Zedek presented Crafting for a Cure with a donor’s plaque in appreciation of all of their support over the past couple of years.
This trip was extra special. Heads turned as Pamela’s sweet and very talented daughter, Naiomi, danced ballet to the delight of our young patients, their families and our staff. After performing in the sitting areas of the Nagel Family Inpatient Pavilion, the Friedman Family Outpatient Pavilion and the Hassenfeld Family Lobby, Naoimi also danced in the rooms of several patients who could not leave their beds. One of the parents of a teenager who had been having a very tough time shared that the visit by the ballerina was the only time her daughter smiled that entire day.
Crafting For a Cure, generously donated to Shaare Zedek several boxes of arts and crafts supplies which our young patients are very much enjoying. In addition, during her visit, Naiomi gave out adorable tutus to girls and cute teddy bears to boys.
Thanks to Crafting for a Cure and all of their kind donors for their efforts to help our young patients during their challenging healing process. Pamela, Serena and Naiomi we look forward to seeing you again soon!
