Shaare Zedek Medical Center’s new Dual Source CT Scanner Jerusalem scans a patient with a stroke or other life-threatening emergency in a fraction of a second.
This CT scanner provides superior images in half the time as the older scanners. In-patient and ambulatory patients are benefiting from the new device which actually contains two scanning units in one. As a result, the exam is so fast that heart patients do not require prepping with beta-blockers and children do not need to be sedated.
Thanks to the generosity of USAID/Office of American Schools and Hospitals Abroad and longtime Shaare Zedek benefactors Dr. Monique C. and Mordecai Katz and patron Mr. Robert Price z”l, the CT is up and running close to the Weinstock Family Emergency Medicine Department.
