Shaare Zedek Medical Center’s Pediatric Radiology Unit, led by Dr. Ruth Cytter Kuint, recently introduced the use of Contrast-Enhanced Voiding Urosonohraphy (CEVUS).
Pediatric contrast-enhanced voiding urosonography uses ultrasound to examine a child’s bladder and urinary tract and there is no radiation.
Dr. Kuint explained, “The new method shortens the duration of the test and is suitable for children of all ages. Since it does not involve ionizing radiation, as opposed to the standard retrograde cystography, this test is safer for children and pregnant mothers can stay with the child during the test.” Please read this article (in Hebrew) for additional information.
